You get to decide whether open shift pick ups need to be approved or not.

To make this change, go to the Settings tab and click Facility Setup. About half way down the page, you should see Open Shift Settings. Pick and choose which groups to enable auto approval for.

If auto approval is turned ON, employees can pick up shifts without your approval.

With auto approval turned OFF, employees will request to pick up an open shift, but you will have to approve it first before it is added to their schedule. To approve shift requests, click on the Open Shifts bar at the top of your schedule and go to the Requested tab on the top right.

Then click on the arrow next to Requests and click Approve
